Available fields

Forms are made up of pages, which in turn are made up of a list of elements. Elements are usually inputs which engineers can provide data which will be shown on the PDF, though some non-input elements are available to help structure the form (such as headings, or information prompts to suggest to engineers how to proceed).

This guide provides a brief overview of the available elements types, how these behave, and what configuration options you have for these.

Heading

Show a large pre-defined message to help split up pages.

Information

Show a regular-sized message to help guide engineers on how to complete the form.

Text

A single-line free-form text input. Suggestions can be supplied which are shown below the input to speed-up input for common values (eg. a list of location names), though users aren't required to select one of these values.

Number

An input field which only allows numbers to be provided. Can be configured to either only allow whole numbers, or to allow decimals.

Textarea

A multi-line text input.

Specifies a list of allowed values which the input must be one of.

Date

Special cases are issued/renewal dates.

Time

Can be used to record time of day (eg. departure time), or durations (eg. time on site).

Date & time

Combined date+time input.

Checkbox

For "Yes"/"No" or "Yes"/"No"/"N/A" inputs. Button text may be customised for other use cases (eg. "Pass"/"Fail").

Signature

Allows signatures to be collected digitally. Typically this is used for customer signatures, as the engineer's signature is saved against their account to avoid them being required to manually re-sign for each form they produce.

Asset

Presents a dropdown of all assets at the site property of the job which the form relates to. May be configured to only show assets of a certain type (eg. gas appliances).

File

Presents a dropdown of all files associated with the job the form is being completed for, with an option to upload a new file. Can be configured to only show files of certain types (eg. images).

Customer

Presents a dropdown of all customers associated with the site property which the form is being created against.
